This invention relates to a computer implemented method for detecting correspondence of a built structure with a designed structure. The method comprises the steps of: receiving an unorganized point cloud (PC) of the built structure, the unorganized PC containing a data set with a plurality of data points, each of which has an RGB value associated therewith; receiving an Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) model of the designed structure, the IFC model including an IFC schema file classifying all object types and object characteristics in the IFC model, the object characteristics including a model object RGB value; integrating the unorganized PC with the IFC model and generating a semantic point cloud by overwriting the RGB value of the data point in the PC with the model object RGB value from the IFC model. In this way, the resulting PC will be easier to evaluate and the evaluation will be more effective.

This invention relates to a computer implemented method of generating a parametric structural design model from a built structure, a computer program product and an apparatus for performing the method. The computer implemented method comprises the steps of receiving a point cloud (PC) representation of the built structure and thereafter generating a plurality of planes from the PC. Planes that are representative of objects to be included in the model are stored in memory. Other planes that are not representative of objects to be included are discarded. The properties of the objects included in the parametric structural design model are retrieved from an Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) standard and the parametric structural design model is generated with the chosen planes and the properties of those objects from the IFC standard. In this way, the generation of the model is more efficient and less computationally burdensome than was heretofore the case.

This invention relates to a computer implemented method of generating a telecom enterprise management system. The method comprises the steps of, for each site in the network, capturing site data including infrastructure data and equipment data. From that captured site data, the method comprises generating a three dimensional ( virtual model of the site; identifying infrastructure components and equipment components in the 3D virtual model; attributing an ISO data model data to each of the equipment components in the 3D virtual model; and storing the ISO data model data for each of the equipment components in the 3D virtual model of the site. In this way, the data wil l be provided in a reliable, uniform format, that will provide accurate information regarding the equipment in the network and will allow effective planning and management of the network.
