Ipsen - Blanchardstown

Project 1:
Consulting/design/construction/commissioning and validation (GMP) of a product isolator/blending and dispensing process located in a class 100,000 clean room environment. Project consisted of the installation of 2 Hosokawa Gloveboxes and 1 Harbruc Blender to streamline the post lyophilisation packaging of an API. Project duration 4 months.

Project 2:
Consulting/design/construction/commissioning and validation(GMP) of a Glass reactor Process Skid in a class 100,000 clean room environment. Designed to meet all GMP and regulatory requirements. Process utilities included Nitrogen, Vacuum, Process vent, Flammable waste and Purified water. Project duration 8 months.

Roche - Clarecastle

Our managed service team provides all on site project management, project engineering and commissioning activities to maintain the site over >4 years. Projects included, expansion and upgrades to chemical reactors, upgrades to automation/control systems and modifications to the process piping, facilities and utilities systems to support the API manufacturing processes. Facilities include both non classified and classified areas.

SPX (Food Industry)

New Product Roll Out:

Norbrook Laboratories - Newry

MMA have surveyed assessed and modelled many of the bulk chemical systems, as well as the API manufacturing suites. We have completed safety/ATEX and compliance assessments and designed upgrades to meet production expansion goals, as well as to ensure compliance with safety and compliance requirements. Currently completing detailed design for a complete renovation of a major API manufacturing suite. 

Our services include chemical process engineering, utility engineering, safety/compliance assessments, structural engineering and automation engineering. Production facilities include non-classified as well as classified cleanroom facilities.


Baxter Healthcare - Castlebar

Site Survey – MMA completed a full laser scan of the building, for use in compiling an ‘as built’ 3D model as the basis of design. No other layout or services drawings were available.

M&E design – MMA completed the full architectural design as well as the mechanical and electrical services design for the full facility.

Services included high purity and black utility systems.

MMA were responsible for co-ordinating the Civil & Structural designs for the building to comply with our architectural layouts.
All services were connected to and supplied from the existing Baxter infrastructure in the adjoining building.

Specialist design – Scope included close temperature control of the storage areas which contain production materials and retained samples. Cleanroom design for new Sampling and Dispensing Facilities to handle hazardous solid and liquid materials.

PSDP – MMA were appointed to act as the PSDP for the project.

Lean Design of Logistics – MMA utilised client workshops and Lean methodologies to identify the scope of work and streamline the design solutions to eliminate double handling and minimise material movements.

Quantity Surveying – Acted as the QS for Baxter Healthcare to provide tender documentation and analysis to facilitate the clients procurement of the contractors services.

Pfizer - Newbridge

Pfizer OC Upgrade Project – Design and construction management of expansion to existing manufacturing facility within a live manufacturing environment.

Project Management & Procurement – MMA acted as the PM for the project and provided the detailed design and project engineering team to deliver the project.

Process & Automation Design – MMA engineers worked with Pfizer SME’s to develop the process flow for the product. MMA project engineers worked with the equipment vendors to develop the process equipment designs and interfaces. The equipment was a mixture of repurposed existing equipment and new equipment. Services included high purity and black utility systems. MMA were responsible for the design and development of the automation systems to link the process stream. All services were connected to and supplied from the existing Pfizer infrastructure.

Plant Layout – MMA developed the concept layouts for the facility and the cost estimate to enable funding approval. Detail design developed over the lifetime of the project to overcome budgetary, schedule and product challenges.

PSDP & PSCS – MMA were appointed to act as the PSDP and PSCS for the project.
M&E Services Design – The mechanical & electrical services included both high purity and black utility services.

Commissioning – MMA were tasked with delivering a fully commissioned facility to Pfizer, with ongoing support to the independent validation team.
